Businesses, Organizations and Agencies
Important Note Regarding Local Education Agencies and Non-Local Entities* – Local Education Agencies and Non-Local Entities are subject to the same requirements as businesses, organizations and agencies, although review and approval of waiver applications and inspection and enforcement activities will be conducted by the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle). *Non-Local Entities as defined by SB 1383 includes special districts, federal facilities, government prisons, state park facilities, public universities, community colleges, county fairgrounds and state agencies.
Recycling and Organics Separation and Collection: Businesses, organizations and agencies must either subscribe to and participate in the recycling and organics curbside collection service OR self-haul recycling and organic waste to a recycling or composting facility as described below.
One exception to these requirements are those Businesses, organizations and agencies in Low Population Census Tract Areas with Approved Waivers. These areas include the following Census Tracts in the unincorporated areas of Yuba and Sutter Counties:
- Sutter County – Census Tracts 508, 509, 510 and 511 [click link to map]
- Yuba County – Census Tracts 409.01, 409.02, 410.01, 410.02, 411.01 and 411.02 [click link to map]
Local Education Agencies and Non-Local Entities in Low Population Census Tract Areas with Approved Waivers will also need to submit a waiver application to CalRecycle and and here is a link to CalRecycle’s webpage that includes these waiver applications and related information:
